Healing is a form of complementary medicine that works alongside more conventional types of care. People who go to healers have often seen counselors, doctors, or other types of helping professionals first, but they still feel that something is missing in their lives or they just feel out of balance. You may be interested in seeing a healer if you have a physical ailment or illness or a nonphysical problem such as difficulty dealing with your emotions, relationships, or money. True healing addresses the underlying issues that created these problems, which are just symptoms of the deeper issues.
Energy healing works differently than counseling alone because a healer uses intuition to help you see what are you not understanding about yourself and your life. When I use energy healing, I do not use a certain procedure each time. I connect to the client’s Higher Self, which is defined as that part of the person that exists in reality and is not part of the ego. It is the ego that distorts reality to make ourselves appear better or worse than we really are. Because the client’s High Self guides the sessions, each session is different.
Some healers use techniques, which means they perform the same steps over and over again for each client in every session. Healers have many different backgrounds and training, and the field of energy healing is unregulated in most states. You will have to check for yourself to find out if a particular healer is a good fit for you. This may mean learning about the kind of training they have received, learning about how they got into the field in the first place, and most importantly, talking to them enough to know that you will feel comfortable working with that person.
