Q. Can animal communication help change unwanted pet behavior? Can you
give an example?
A. Yes, animal communication can definitely be helpful. It will depend on the approach
and openness of the person, the concern involved, length of time that the behavior has
been occurring, and the readiness of the animal to shift. Keys include being open to
understanding the animals’ perspectives, and one’s willingness to incorporate the input
they provide. The animals typically share wonderful insights, and there may be stages
to making improvements that need to take place to progress effectively.
One area that I enjoy being able to be of support is with rescue and foster animals. A
case example includes a beautiful rescue dog whom I was asked to connect with
telepathically. He was panicking and getting into real trouble in the house every time
he was left home alone with another dog. There are numerous ways to address the
concerns from a training aspect, however the family had already attempted many
things. They thought they would give animal communication a try to get a better sense
of what the animal was feeling and thinking. The animal was open to talking, but would
not discuss their life prior to being adopted. After some time, and some continued
gentle questioning, the animal finally choose to open up and discuss their extended
experiences as a stray. At the end of the conversation, it was like the animal gave a
huge sigh of relief to have someone simply listen and translate for them so their person
would better understand what happened. From that point on, the panicked and
destructive behavior began to noticeably turn around, and things smoothed out very
well for everyone in the long run.
In describing cases, though, it is critical to understand that animal communication is not
a replacement for veterinary care, training, exercise, and proper nutrition, all critical
areas of support for good companion animal behavior.
Q. You have founded an organization called Animal Spirit Healing & Education
Network. What inspired you to create this network and what is it exactly?
A. Animal Spirit Healing & Education Network is a collaborative school, offering
educational classes and certificate programs in holistic animal care and intuitive healing
arts. We brought together faculty members who are top professionals so their
opportunities to share valuable experiences and information could be broadened. I am
personally familiar with their dedication, practical knowledge, professional teaching
experience, and ability to inspire and guide others, and this is a key motivation and
inspiration for me.
ASN now offers distance learning and on-site courses in Shamanic Animal Healing,
Animal Communication, Animal Reiki, Loss and Grief Support, Flower Essences,
Species Behavior, Tellington TTouch, Animal Nutrition, and other animal wellness
areas. Our students range from people who simply want to connect more deeply with
their animal companions; to healing arts professionals who want to expand their
knowledge and develop their practice, to animal care professionals such as
veterinarians, who are dedicated to providing the best in holistic care to their clients.
We are looking forward to supporting people and animals nationally and internationally
on their journeys of deeper understanding and holistic wellness.
