• Taiji: Chinese art of slow, continuous series of movements designed to
    develop physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

  • Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM):  Sometimes referred to as Oriental
    Medicine, it is an ancient healthcare approach that examines the flow of life
    energy (called qi, chi, or ki) which has been blocked in the body and caused
    an illness or disease.  The use of herbal medicine and acupuncture is often
    employed to remove the blockage and restore a balance of yin and yang. See

  • Trager:  Developed by Milton Trager, M.D., trager is a method of bodywork
    designed to re-educate the body and nervous system so that discomfort and
    pain disappear.

  • Yin and Yang: representing energy that are polar opposites, yin usually
    refers to energy that is feminine, cool, and receptive, while yang refers to
    male energy which is active and hot.  

  • Yoga:  Meaning "union" in Sanskrit, the word yoga refers to the union of
    universal energy and the human spirit.  Most yoga classes are hatha yoga,
    which is a method of developing spiritual enlightenment through physical
    mastery of the body.
