    sometimes used to treat physical or mental problems

  • Herbalism:  the practice of making or prescribing herbal remedies
    for medical conditions.  See Health & Nutrition.

  • Holistic Healthcare: an approach to health which considers the
    whole person and the interconnection between the mind, body, and
    spirit, rather than focusing on a particular illness or body part.

  • Homeopathy:  a holistic system for treating chronic or acute
    illnesses based on the idea that “like cures like.”  Samuel
    Hahnermann founded the concept of homeopathy.

  • Hydrotherapy:  treatment of injury or disease with the application of
    water in one of its three forms: steam, liquid, or ice.

  • Hypnotherapy: use of hypnosis for therapeutic results.  Used to
    address a variety of problems, including anxiety, phobias, and
    emotional problems.

  • Jin Shin Jyutsu:  ancient Japanese art of placing the hands on
    specific areas of the body to harmonize the flow of chi.
